Challenges

Young people, especially students and early professionals, experience decision fatigue despite owning many clothes. They spend excessive time choosing outfits, make impulse purchases, and struggle to practice sustainable fashion due to lack of guidance. Existing wardrobe apps feel generic, complex or irrelevant to Indian needs, especially when combining ethnic and western wear.

My Approach

The project started with secondary research and user testing to understand dressing habits, sustainability awareness, and daily frustrations. Multiple user personas were created to represent students and professionals. Concept development focused on capsule wardrobe principles, followed by ideation of features such as digital closets, guided styling, and outfit suggestions. Two visual directions Premium and Mass-Premium were tested, and user feedback guided the final design choice.

Outcome

The final outcome was UNIVO, a guided capsule wardrobe system that helps users style better with fewer clothes. The app simplifies daily outfit decisions, supports sustainable habits, and offers a clean, mass-premium interface preferred by users for everyday use.

My Contribution

  • Led the project end to end defining the problem space and shaping the capsule wardrobe solution.

  • Conducted research and user testing to identify key pain points like decision fatigue and impulse buying.

  • Drove concept development and feature ideation, including digital closet and guided styling flows.

  • Led UI direction and testing, finalizing the Mass-Premium interface based on user feedback.

Conclusion

UNIVO transforms sustainable fashion from an abstract idea into a practical, everyday system. By focusing on clarity, personalization and ease of use, the project shows how thoughtful UX can reduce decision fatigue, promote mindful consumption and fit naturally into users’ daily live

My

Design Proces

A well-structured process leads to better results. This Process ensures that every project moves smoothly from concept to completion.

01.

Research

I see research as the backbone of my design process. It helps me understand the real problem, drop weak ideas early, giving me clarity on what to focus on and build next.

02.

Sorting

The Sorting phase of Design process involves taking the insights and facts from the Research phase and applying them into potential solutions.

03.

Building

Once my team and I explored different concepts and finalized an idea, we moved on to building it.

04.

Analyze

The Analyze phase helps me understand how my design works in real use. It allowed me to move beyond assumptions, learn from feedback and use those insights to iterate and improve my solution.

Design is never done, there’s always an opportunity to continue to refine and optimize.
