True Companions
True Companions is a service designed to reduce social isolation among elderly individuals by pairing them with empathetic young companions for emotional support and meaningful connection. The platform focuses on fostering intergenerational bonding, improving digital inclusion for elders, and enabling safe, structured interactions through a simplified digital interface and a centralized admin system.

Challenges
Elderly individuals in India face increasing social isolation due to loss of partners, limited family interaction and reduced social engagement. Many feel emotionally disconnected while also struggling with digital tools that are not designed for their needs. At the same time, young people want to help but lack structured ways to build meaningful, consistent connections.
My Approach
The project began with secondary and primary research to understand loneliness triggers, social preferences, and digital habits of elderly users, along with challenges faced by young companions. User personas and journey maps were created for both groups to identify emotional pain points. Based on insights, a digital service was designed with simplified interfaces, guided interactions, and community-based features such as Memory Wall, Walk Meetups, and Skill Sharing to encourage emotional bonding and trust.
Outcome
The result was True Companions, a structured service that pairs elderly individuals with verified young companions through a safe and accessible platform. The solution supports emotional well-being, encourages digital inclusion, and enables meaningful interactions through events, shared memories, and monitored sessions managed via an admin dashboard.

Conclusion
True Companions demonstrates how emotionally driven, inclusive service design can reduce social isolation among the elderly while empowering youth to contribute meaningfully. The project highlights the importance of trust, simplicity, and human connection in digital platforms designed for users.
